Ontario does not determine an Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) in either area or volume. Area regulation is used to determine the level of harvest in hectares for a five year term (usually). It is calculated for each management unit within the context of a forest management plan (FMP). For the purpose of NFDP reporting, the area and volume figures provided are estimates of an average annual area and volume available for harvest based on all FMPs in the province.
